| Resumo | An inventory of landslide data was elaborated based on the interpretation of remote sensing products in the region of the mountain range of Cubatão (SP-Brazil), on a scale of 1:10.000. Aerial photos taken in 1985, 1986 and 1994 were orthorectified and imported into a geographic data base, where 1742 scars were extracted from the images taken in 1985 and another 853 scars from 1994 images. Using SPRING spatial operators, the attributes were calculated using average values of elevation, slope and aspect, zonal majority of the lithological units were calculated, and shape of the slopes, among others. Results show that the basins of the Rio da Onça and Rio das Pedras presented the highest densities of scars in the events of 1985 and 1994, respectively. The majority of the scars occur preferentially on the slopes with average and high altitudes in the mountain range, above of the elevation 300m, between 35º and 40º of slope, and on the slopes that have a rectilinear profile. It was also noted that practically 75% of the scar polygons have areas measuring less than 400m2, limiting their mapping to high resolution sensors like photographic sensors or those that are on board newer satellites such as SPOT 5, IKONOS and QUICBIRD. | |||
